Core banking for 500+ African institutions

Core banking is the ledger everything else hangs off. Accounts, balances, postings, the lot. Institutions running it on legacy systems get long implementation cycles, semi-manual back-office work, and painful third-party integrations.

BankOne offers it as a cloud-native platform instead, serving everyone from microfinance banks to commercial banks and fintechs. The range of institution sizes is the hard part: the same ledger has to behave correctly for an operation with a handful of branches and one with hundreds.

I work on backend services in C# and ASP.NET Core across the platform and its API surface, which is exposed to customers through a public developer portal.

Correctness comes before everything on a ledger. A feature that is fast and slightly wrong is not a feature, so the work is heavy on agreeing behaviour up front and proving it afterwards.

The platform serves over 500 financial institutions across Africa.

It offers core banking, digital channels and integrated payments through one API-enabled system.
