Facial biometric verification as an API

Facial verification a business can integrate in an afternoon, without hiring anyone who knows what a face embedding is.

facial verification

The problem

Businesses onboarding customers remotely still need to know who they are talking to. Building facial verification in-house means acquiring a whole competence that has nothing to do with the product you actually sell.

What I did

Dotta exposes verification as an API, so integrating it is a backend task rather than a machine learning project. I worked on the C# and ASP.NET services behind that surface.

The goal was a small, boring API. A business should be able to use it without understanding how any of the recognition works, and without reading much documentation.

What changed

Dotta runs as a commercial verification service at withdotta.com.

Built with

  • C#
  • ASP.NET
  • Facial Recognition
  • REST APIs
